Any attempt to tamper with or to remove this type of hologram results in the holographic image breaking up - partly on the film that has been removed, and partly on the substrate where the hologram was affixed. Any further attempts to still remove the hologram image intact will result in defacing the hologram. Such partial transfer generally carries a checkerboard or circular pattern.
