Hifin products manufactures a complete specimen preparation system for quality control in metal working and mechanical metallurgy. Grinder/polisher model himet wg-1 is designed to meet the requirements of the modern laboratory for grinding and polishing of metallographic or mineralogical specimens, and is built for economy applications. Flush mounted on an elegant cabinet, with a corrosion resistant table top, it is a compact one station machine, provided with a water faucet and sink for specimen rinsing. Powered by a vibration-free continuously variable drive, the grinding/polishing discs run on maintenance-free ball bearings. Interchangeable 200 mm or 300 mm dia discs provide for maximum flexibility to suit individual requirements. To expand the capability, additional custom-built accessories will automate this machine for multiple sample preparation, and a suitable combination of these gives the operator a higher than average preparation volume.
