Jindal stainless manufactures martensitic stainless steel. It is commonly used for knife blades, surgical instruments, shafts, spindles and pins. Martensitic stainless steels are commercially developed for cutlery. This steel has a relatively high carbon content [0.1-1.2%] compared to other grades of stainless steel. The stainless steel is moderate corrosion resistance which can be hardened by heat treatment resulting in high strength and hardness.
