Surface International offers refractory guniting machines that are widely used for repairing of electric arc furnace AOD, VOD, in hot and cold conditions. The main advantage of these guniting machines is achieved when furnaces are repaired in hot condition. The time required for cooling and again heating of the furnace along with the thermal losses is prevented, thereby saving in terms of power derived. The guniting machines are available in two sizes, viz, D-3R and D-6R with output range of 1.0 to 2.0 m³/hr. Bigger models are available in rotary gunning designs where 5 to 6 m³/hr output of spraying refractory material can be achieved. The refractory gunning machines are also used for injection of coke in molten metal bath for making alloy steel. These machines are also find application for foamy slag application in steel melting units. The machines entail features like remote control system, vibrating silo, semi-wet nozzle, refractory gunning nozzles, and coke injection nozzles. The refractory material is conveyed dry from the machine to the nozzle point and hydration as required is done at nozzle point just before spraying.
