Driveroll is a small powered roller with a 50 mm diameter. It is an electric conveyor roller with its own self-contained power transmission system. No bulky drives are required to power the system, it can simply be inserted into the frame and connected to a power supply to make it operational. There is no need to provide elaborate safety guards over moving parts. These rollers are available in stainless steel and aluminium tubing. Special driverolls are also available where the tubes are typically modified with grooves for driving adjacent rollers. Polyurethane and soft pvc covered tubes are also available for improved traction or cushioning and noise reduction. Tapered roller tubes are also available for powered roller curves. The roller operates at a safe low voltage [24 v dc]. It is a high torque device with a lot of reserve power. The driveroll is also easily reversed with simple controls. A double throw switch or a solid state electronic control board can be used to provide dynamic braking.
