A wide range of flame arresters are offered by chem-tech engineering works. These flame arresters are used for use in chemical, petrochemical, allied industries and refineries. Some technical features of these flame arresters include: these flame arresters are anormally installed on the and of the line or above the vessel where hazardous gases are normally vented out. These flame arresters are used in preventing an external fire which enters into the tank or inside the pipeline. Body of the flame arresters is made up of cast steel, cast iron, ss-304/316, aluminium or as per the process requirement. Sizing and designing of these arresters are done with reference to api-2000; and flame bank is so designed that the presure drop is negligible. Sizes range from ½" [15 nb] to 2" [50 nb] in screwed connection; and 1" [25 nb] to 16" [400 nb] in flanged connection. The internal crimped elements or flame bank is manufactured from metal sheets and gauges or sheets made of stainless steel/aluminium. Gas is allowed to pass along with the element, which prevents the fire.
