Western electronic enterprise offers a flexural strength tester for cables. This apparatus mainly consists of two grips to hold both ends of the specimen cable at a distance face to face 120 mm apart with their axis parallel to that of specimen. A fulcrum is provided at the centre of the grip. Initially these grips are located at 135â° with respect to each other at the fulcrum, and are capable to flex at a time to and fro up to 52â° each. The flexing movement of 20 flex per minute is given with the help of an electric motor, through a reduction gearbox with belt pulley drive to adjust the speed of flex as per requirements. This system is mounted on a base plate. A stroke counter is provided to count the number of flexes. The whole apparatus is nicely painted with spray paint and bright parts are chrome plated.
