Vectra process controls supplies a low cost machine controller, mc24, capable of controlling the sequence of a machine. It can also monitor and control process parameters such as temperature, pressure and weight. A front panel display and keypad enables the setting of timers, counters and process parameters. The current values of timers, counters and process parameters are displayed to monitor the status of the machine. The keypad manufactures16 manual function keys, which can be used to operate outputs, or to replace panel-mounted pushbuttons. The status of inputs and outputs are displayed with discrete leds. The machine supports up to 16 dc inputs, operating at 24 v dc. These inputs are isolated from the main circuit. The 24 v dc supply, to power the switches, proximities and sensors is available from within. The machine has 8 in-built electromechanical relays rated for 230 v ac, 1 amp operation. In addition, 7 solid state relay drivers are provided. The solid state relays are to be mounted externally, and can support up to 10 amp loads at 230 v ac. Alternately, the relays can be used to control the power delivered to a load. These could be used in heater control and infrared heating control., an analogue output is provided to control external devices such as ac or dc drives. The analogue output can be of 0- 10 v dc or 4-20 ma. User areas are plastic processing machines, machine tools, materials handling, packaging and other industries.
