The gear boxes are round with centre shafts square or pear shaped these are designed considering the high speed and high torque of the dc motor. The gear boxes are made of poly acetal [delrin] brass and steel depending on the output load in some applications where overload protection is desired a 2-way slipping clutch can be incorporated in the gear box.
