Technofour offers crack detector. It is a portable instrument for detecting surface breaking cracks in metals. By using a small probe the crack detection is achieved. The surface under test is scanned by this probe. As soon as a crack is encountered, the presence and severity of the crack is shown by a proportional deflection on the panel meter. Audio and visual indications of the presence of a crack are given. Typical applications are periodic checks of aircraft landing wheels for cr acks; detection of seams in rounds and hexagonals; estimation of severity of cracks on machine beds, tools etc; and the inspection of dies.
