Technofour has launched conductivity meter with digital display type-979 which is an instrument that measures electric conductivity of non-ferrous metals in absolute units. The meter reads the conductivity in percentage of international annealed copper standard, in the range of 10 to 102% iacs and can also be used to measure those properties of the non-ferrous metal which are directly related to its electrical conductivity. The areas of applications are measurement of absolute conductivity of electrical hardware and electrical conductors made of copper, aluminium and their alloys; segregation of mixed lot of nonferrous metals; evaluating alloy material and uniformity of heat treatment; determination of homogeneity of metal; estimation of property which has corelation to electrical conductivity. It can be used on ingots, forgings, sheets, castings, bars on finished parts of any conductive material such as aluminium, copper, brass, bronze, magnesium, lead gold, or silver. The meter has direct digital display with 0.1% iacs least count, and the accuracy of measurement is better than ±1 iacs. Accurate results can be obtained even from specimen with rough surface; and, a metal ring provided at base of the probe, protects the probe-face from wear.
