New grand engg offers variable speed fixed center drive. It is used on printing, packing, pharmaceutical machines, food processing, conveyor belts, machine tools and other applications where higher ratio, space savings and fairly frequent speed changes are essential consideration. These drives incorporate two variable speed pulleys and a variable speed belt. One pulley can be adjusted mechanically and the other is spring-loaded. This pulley includes two facing discs, one fixed and other sliding laterally on sleeve. The spring load is on the sliding disc. Both the pulleys are coupled using variable speed belt on fixed centre distance. By rotating the hand wheel changing the disc position on axially, the output speed is infinitely adjusted. The variable speed belt circumference is fixed, thus the variable spring pulley disc position is automatically changed. The pcd between the two variable pulleys obtains the variable speed. The mounting and operation is simple and requires negligible attention and maintenance.
