Electroless platers offers electroless nickel-plating on various parts. This is a non-conventional plating system where current is not used for deposition. As no current is used, plating on intricate parts with hole and deep recesses can be done with a uniform layer thickness. There is no excess build-up at edges or at corners and hence eliminates post-plating grinding operation. The plating layer is amorphousand corrosion protection is superior to that of equal thickness of electrode posited nickel. Electroless nickel plating is ideal for complex shapes where uniform and controllable plating thickness is not possible by conventional electroplating process. This makes electroless coating the most suitable for plastic dies. Regular plating is done on taper cavities, breaker plates, spiders and other extrusion die parts. Barrels for injection moulding machines are plated for non-stick property and for easy cleaning. Worn out punches can be re-build to original dimensions by uniform coating. This makes electroless coating superior to electroplating. Eni plating can be done on selective area also. Small parts difficult to plate individually, can be hard plated in barrel. The plating layer can be buffed to mirror finish. It offers superior corrosion protection, uniform and controllable layer thickness, wear resistance high surface hardness, non-stick property for plastic moulds and extrusion dies and solderability, ductility and lubricity.
