Resistance -To- Ground -Tester is used to reduce the chance of damage to susceptible parts and assemblies resulting from ESD. The first step in ensuring that everything is at the same electrical potential is to ground all components to the same electrical ground point. This point is called the common point ground and is defined by ANSI EOS/ESD/S6.1 as a system or method for connecting two or more grounding conductors to the same electrical potential.
Resistance -To- Ground -Tester is available as Model 109 which verifies that the bonding-to-ground of the ESD workstation is less than 1 or 2 Ohms, depending on the range selected. This hand-held, portable unit allows the user to make fast, accurate checks of point-to-ground connections on ESD workstations and other associated items.
