P m & co, has launched a cnc labelling machine. The cnc labelling machine is designed to handle butt cut label rolls as against the regular automatic dispensing compatible die cut rolls which have a separation of about 2 mm between the labels. This allows good savings in the label roll costs. The machine registers the edge of each label before peeling it off against a wedge and sticking it onto the top of the bottle cap. The bottles are moved under the applicator head by a timing belt conveyor which allows for the precise positioning of the bottles under the wedge separator for the application of the labels. The bottles with the labels stuck on the cap tops move further down on the conveyor to a flapper station where the flapping mechanism detects the presence of the bottle and flaps down on the label flaps. The width of the label roll that the machine can handle is a maximum of 90 mm. The weight of the bottle can be up to 300gm. The head is positioned to accept bottles with a maximum height of 80 mm. The machine works reliably at speeds of 120 labels per minute. All the machine parameters, ie, conveyor speed and label dispensing speed, etc, are programmable.
