Infin machine tools offers an automatic rounding and chamfering machine for gear teeth, type k 15, from picco angelo & co, italy. The rounding and chamfering of the teeth is obtained by coordinating the alternative movement of cutter and rotary movement of the piece. The alternative movement of the cutter is obtained by rotation of a cam, shaped in order to obtain radius or cusp roundings. A set of 4 cams allows to work modulus from 1 to 16 inclusive. A regulation device allows to change modulus between minimum and maximum value of every cam. Piece rotation is driven by 3 gears, which make the dividing system. The clamping of the piece and tool quick approach are driven by a pneumatic equipment. Practicality and quickness of setting, large choice of profiles offered by cams and the possibility to work internal gears make the mach universal and suitable to work either small or big series. Automatic cycles are: cycle 1 - machining from the solid with only one revolution of the piece; cycle 2 - machining from the solid during the first revolution plus one smoothing revolution; and cycle 3 - machining with one or many equal passages. This cycle may be finished in two ways: with a fraction of revolution of the piece after the machining, and with a complete smoothing revolution. The down stroke of the cutter head, may be led either in number or in value.
