Developments in conveyor belt technology have created the possibility of transporting thousands of tonnes per hour through kilometres over varied terrain. Enclosed designs now allow for the transport of dusty products in an environmentally friendly way. Addition of partition cleats and sidewalls permit inclinations upto 50 degrees horizontally, without carry back and spillage. Lumps up to 100 mm cube are normally acceptable and larger sizes can be accommodated with special precautions. Temperature constraint for conventional application is 60ºc and 110ºc with heat resistant covers.
