Stanley machine tools, pioneers in user friendly riveting machines, have developed a new series of built-in diagnostics for preventive maintenance, electronic control orbital, silent riveting machines. These are bench type with a piece counter. The machines consist of an additional handle at the rear to facilitate major day light adjustment. Besides, thee machines are equipped with micromatic stop for precise height control with graduated ring to set precisely up to 0.01 mm accuracy. The control system consists of an electronic control and timer, infinitely variable from 1 to 10 seconds. These machines have pillar type construction and are electro-pneumatically operated. There are built-in safety arrangements so that the cycle commences only if the motor is on, and built-in protection against overloading and single phasing. Optional features include: several modes of logic controls like auto/manual, hand/foot, setting selector; digital readout timer infinitely variable from 1 to 70 seconds with additional off delay electronic timer for setting the duration from 1 to 10 seconds after completing the selected riveting cycle; and, two hand safety control devices, emergency stop palm switch and workspace lamp. The machines carry out silent forming of rivet heads with reduced thrust rate over the conventional methods. The material grain is not disturbed and the rivet head is neatly formed. They facilitate riveting of any standard rivet head as well as special including delicate part assemblies requiring high precision and high finish. They cut rejection rates and increase production up to 200% over the conventional methods thereby making precision assembly economical. Silent vibration free operation minimises operators fatigue. User areas are riveting of components/assembly of hardware, watch assembly, typewriters, surgical instruments, aeronautical, assembly of auto electricals, automobiles, electric contacts, etc.
