Balluff has introduced new steel face sensors to their line of inductive sensors. These are ideal especially in harsh environments and applications that are too extreme for standard sensors. The particular advantage lies in their resistance to abrasive media and aggressive cleaning fluids. The sensors also features an extremely robust active surface made of 1 mm thick steel. Steel face sensors with selective discrimination do not respond to aluminium chips and are therefore well suited for chip forming aluminium machining. Whether for metal processing in machine tools, foods production or in automobile technology, the rugged steel face sensors welcome the challenge of extreme environments. It has resistance to abrasive media and aggressive coolants and lubricants, rugged sensing face, and longer switching distance for more function reserve.
