Closed loop excitation control panel matches the generator demand with the capability of the diesel engine. Excitation control panel works on the output of the traction generator, and is used in wdm2 and wdg loco’s to control the speed of the loco by monitoring voltage & currents of the excitation system. Closed loop excitation control panel maintains the proper load on the generator to avoid load fluctuations.
