Vaddigiri factory automation manufactures flexible machining centres that are suitable for large volume, large variety. These machines can be used as full-fledged horizontal and vertical multi-spindle centres by setup change. The machines are fully automatic controlled by computerised numerical control [cnc] systems. Setup change includes change of machining unit and change of the fixture takes 15 minutes. The automatic tool changer has nine tools [optional 24 for bt50 and 32 for bt40] and tools are changed directly by the spindle. Facility is provided to refix atc to use the same in hmc/vmc. These machines are of moving column type, ie, all the three movements x, y, z are given to the tool and component is stationary. Hence component weight and length are immaterial. Stroke of the machine is variable from 800 to 6000mm. The machines are suitable to handle small component to very big component.
