Solar Powered Street Lighting System is stand alone, self powered and is suitable for outdoor lighting. The System uses the freely available sun light during day time, to charge the battery through solar photo voltaic module, and then automatically switches on a led lamp, after sunset and switches off automatically at dawn. The System consist of solar PV module, battery, luminaries with in-built inverter and energy efficient led lamp, etc and moulded on sturdy structural support consisting of pole, weather proof battery box, mounting structure etc. The System has the feature that the sun energy is converted to DC electricity by PV module and keeps the battery on charge during day time, and lights-up the lamp in the night, with three no sun-shine n days autonomy provided. The System is robust, self contained and is easy to install. The System has autonomy from 2 to 3 days, charge on and low battery indicator, pole from 4 to 5 metres, efficiency of 85%, output light intensity from 15 LUX at 4 metres from 18 LUX at 5 metres, lamp from 11 w LED from 11 w LED to 18 w/ LED. The Solar Powered Street Lighting System is available in microprocessor based manner and comes with dusk to dawn controller feature.
