Pharmaceutical Grade Calcium Carbonate contains high content of caco3 and low impurities like PB, AS, HG, FE etc. The Carbonate is used to neutralize the acids in fermentation process and for calcium supplement tablets. The Carbonate makes it easier to shape calcium tablets. The Carbonate has flouride as f of maximum 20 ppm, magnesium as mGo ranging from 0.04% to 0.05%, chloride as CL of maximum 20 PPM, phosphate of 20 to 100 PPM maximum. The Carbonate has argonite crystal structure, water absorption rate from 40 to 85 ml/ 100 gm, oil absorption ranging from 30 to 65 ml/ 100 gm. The Pharmaceutical Grade Calcium Carbonate has loss on drying at 105 ° c of 0.5% maximum, bulk density ranging from 0.40 to 0.90 gm/ ml, residue on 300 mess of maximum 0.2%.
