Presented by surfine tools the taper burnishing tool is of two kinds the internal taper burnishing tool and the external taper burnishing tool. Internal taper burnishing tool is used in valve seating and pipe fittings for better and leak proof surface seating and their size range is dia 10 mm onwards. External tape burnishing tool is used in valve plugs and other tapered pins or shafts and their size range is - minimum dia 3 mm onwards. While doing internal or external taper burnishing, care should be taken to maintain taper angle of the component in pre burnishing operation otherwise burnishing might be in patches. The tools are pf plunged type and hence not to be oversqueezed.
