Product Profile of Industrial Grade Lateral Expansion Joints
Industrial Grade Lateral Expansion Joints are used to absorb lateral deflection and angular rotation. The Joints are made up of two single bellows elements connected by a piece of pipe called as centre spool. The Joints have a construction that allows the bellows to absorb the thermal growth of the piping between the tie rod attachments while eliminating the pressure thrust on the system. The Industrial Grade Lateral Expansion Joints have tie rods that are attached on the outer ends and span both the bellows and the centre spool.
Key Features of Industrial Grade Lateral Expansion Joints
- Used to absorb lateral deflection and angular rotation
- Made up of two single bellows elements connected by a piece of pipe called as centre spool
- Have a construction that allows the bellows to absorb the thermal growth of the piping between the tie rod attachments while eliminating the pressure thrust on the system
- Tie rods that are attached on the outer ends and span both the bellows and the centre spool.
- In the z shape system the thermal growth of the horizontal sections is absorbed as lateral deflection by the lateral expansion joint as shown in adjacent figure.
