Industrial Grade Disperse Rosin can size paper in neutral conditions and also facilitates the incorporation of calcium carbonate filler under neutral ph conditions, improving the optical properties of the paper, loss in brightness associated with acid sizing. The Rosin is a ready to use liquid which avoids cooking at the mill site hence it is easier in handling and dosing and produces a size precipitate that has a potentially low surface energy and thus high water repellence of droplets even at elevated ph up to 6.5 with or without calcium carbonate, a filler normally used in this range of ph. The Rosin facilitates the usage of wide range of fillers with an emphasis on calcium carbonate which has to be sized only at neutral or pseudo alkaline conditions. The Industrial Grade Disperse Rosin ensures control in loss of brightness during paper consolidation due to the high ph environment of the wet end in paper or board making and can accommodate good alkalinity during normal filler application; the higher amount of same can be used without losing the dynamic strength properties.
