Industrial grade Valve Steel comprises of carbon, manganese, silicon, chromium, phosphorus, sulphur, nitrogen, iron and nickel. The Valve Steel is used primarily in exhaust valves and the head portion of two piece valves. The Valve Steel can be readily forged by both upset and extrusion methods at temperatures in the range of 2050 and 2150 degree F.
