Industrial Socket Welded Fittings have a deep socket into which the pipe slips and aligns itself. These Socket Welded Fittings eliminate the need of special clamps or tack welding for alignment prior to the final fit-up welding. These Socket Welded Fittings come with a 1/16" gap at the bottom of the socket to compensate for expansion when the weld is made.
