Product Profile of Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether
Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether is an oxygenated solvent miscible with a variety of hydrocarbons such as ketones, alcohol, etc. The Ether is suitable as a process solvent with good solvating property and is a substitute for diethyl ether, propyl ether, tetrahydrofuran and other solvents. The Ether is used as a relatively solvent in organic synthesis with properties matching diethyl ether, but with a higher boiling point and lower solubility in water. The Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether is used as an extractant solvent for the pharmaceutical synthesis and also in the synthesis of grignard’s reagent.
Application of Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether:
- Used as a solvent in organic synthesis with properties matching diethyl ether, but with a higher boiling point and lower solubility in water.
- Used as an extracting solvent for the pharmaceutical synthesis
- In the synthesis of grignard’s reagent.
