Dried Processed Mustard Seeds come from two large shrubs, Brassica juncea [brown mustard] and Brassica hirta [white mustard], native to Asia. These Mustard Seeds have hot and spicy flavour that enhances meats, fish, fowl, sauces, and salad dressings. These Mustard Seeds may be used in pickling or in boiling vegetables such as cabbage or sauerkraut. These Dried Processed Mustard Seeds in powder form has no aroma when dry, but a hot flavour is released when it is mixed with water.
