Product Profile of Electromagnetic Type D.C. Stepper Motor
Electromagnetic type D.C. Stepper Motor converts digital pulses into discrete mechanical rotational movements. The Stepper Motor comes in uni-polar or bipolar design having multi- toothed rotor and stator. The Stepper Motor ensures that the rotor uses permanent magnet and the stator is two phase pair [four phase] bifilar winding with 6 leads or 8 leads. Electromagnetic type D.C. Stepper Motor is strong and rigid in construction and requires minimal maintenance.
Key Features of Electromagnetic Type D.C. Stepper Motor
- A wide range of rotating speeds (stepping rate) proportional to the frequency of the pulse signal is provided
- The rotating angle of the motor is directly proportional to the number of input pulses
- The angle error per step is very small and non-cumulative
- Rapid response to starting/ stopping and reversing
- Digital input pulse signal provide open-loop control, thus making the system simple and avoiding the need for closed loop system for less critical application
- Self-holding capability makes it possible for the rotor to be held in the stepped position without the use of brakes
