Industrial Purpose Chilled Iron Grits are angular in shape having white structure made from cast iron scrap or pig iron having carbon in excess of 1.7 and up to 3.5 % and hardness above 750 HV / 63 RC. Chilled Iron Grits are widely used for cleaning in foundries and in castings for sand removal. Chilled Iron Grits are also suitable for etch structural steel and components prior to coating with paint, metal spray and plastics.
