The construction of Pillar Mounted Slewing Jib Crane has some of the following salient features:

• Pillar - The pillar is fabricated from cold rolled and welded tubular steel section, which has an excellent strength and rigidity properties. The stiffened base plate so designed that will absorb the vibration in the column while the arm is in rotation, adequate number of foundation bolt holes are provided to bear tensile and shear loads.

• Jib Arm - The arm is either truss type fabricated with I – Beam / OR Box type section designed in accordance to IS : 807 , it is not only designed for strength and deflection but account is also taken for the natural time of vibration damping, this will avoid the vibration in jib arm and other crane components for a prolong period thereby ensuring increased life of the equipment.

• Hoisting Motion - Hoisting motion can be through a chain pulley block / electric wire rope hoist depends upon frequency of operations, type of usage etc.

• Traversing Motion - Traversing either can be from push-pull trolley / geared trolley or motorized monorail trolley.

• Rotating - The jib arm can be rotate through 360 Deg. / 180° / 270° With simply by pulling a chain / rope or it can be rotate mechanical arrangement , such as gearing and chain wheel arrangements or electrically with gear motor arrangements.

• Power Supply - Power supply to the jib crane through a copper armored / flexible cable. Power supply to the hoisting unit of a 360 Deg. Slewing jib crane will be through slipring assemblies.

• Painting - All the fabricated parts are thoroughly cleaned and all visible mill scale, rust and any foreign matter removed and painted with one coat of Zinc rich red oxide primer and two coat of traffic yellow paint.
