Polycarbonate has the following features:

• Processing temperature : 180 to 230 C

• Thermal damage may occur above 230 C unless the residence time in the cylinder is kept short.

• High thermal stress during processing will result in the formation of formaldehyde [highly odorous].

• Pre-drying is not necessary but can be carried out at 110 C for 2 hours is the material has become moist or if the uniformity of the material needs to be improved.
