Product Profile of Pre-emergence Herbicide

E. I. DuPont India P. Limited manufactures Pre-Emergence Herbicide. E. I. DuPont India P. Limited products are ISO certified. Pre-Emergence Herbicide or Pretobest™ is the herbicide for rice. It contains 500 gm pretilachlor per litre of emulsifiable concentrate [EC] formulation. It is available with excellent activity against annual grasses, sedges and broad leaf weeds. The Pre-Emergence Herbicide is taken up by the shoots and to a lesser extent by the roots of germinating weeds, which die shortly after emergence.

Characteristics of Pre-Emergence Herbicide are as follows:

• It has residual action for 40-50 days

• It has excellent selectivity on rice

• It is compatible with other herbicides in mixtures

• It has LD-50 oral greater than 6000 [Green Triangle]
