• UV degradation of polypropylenes is caused by wavelength in the 300-310nm band

• Nano clays block radiation strongly in the 250-350nm region thereby effectively acting as a sun block for the polymer

• By using Nano clays in conjunction with HALS stabilizers, a synergistic stabilization performance is seen

• The Nano clay acts as an efficient UV blocker and the HALS acts as radical scavenger.

• Nano clays have minimum interaction with other chemicals and are not migratory in nature
