Until now, there was not a single self-contained clamping unit available to the indian industry for general use. Steel-smith`s pneumatic clamps fill this void. There are two advantages inherent in the design of these clamps, namely, the fact that the toggle action principle with its "over centre toggle lock" ensures that the clamp stays fully locked in the event of air failure, and in addition, the toggle action increases the pressure exerted by the cylinder. So these clamps not only provide a safer method of clamping but also much greater pressure. Another unique feature of these clamps is that they can be used in normally inaccessible positions where operator cannot reach. Which means all clamping positions are now effectively brought within "hands reach". Pneumatic toggle clamps are available in hold down action, straight-line action, right angle hold down action, heavy-duty and h v series.
