The 2K High Speed FireWire Camera is a 2048 pixel CMOS monochrome line scan camera with an IEEE 1394 [FireWire] interface. The image output is in 8-bit format. The camera outputs a maximum of 16k lines per second at 2048 pixels. This camera provides 2x binning which improves the sensitivity of the camera by raising the effective size of the pixel to 14um. Integrated Image processing algorithms like Gaussian filter and sharpening are implemented in this camera. It supports two trigger modes called Line per trigger and Frame per trigger. FFC [Flat Field Correction] is also incorporated in the camera to improve the image quality. It takes full advantage of CMOS technology to provide complete flexibility in setting the resolution [window size] and frame rate.
The image output from the camera is provided using the industry standard IEEE-1394a. A PCI or PCI Express 1394 Card [Image Acquisition Card] is required to read the image data into a PC. The camera can interface with any 1394 card with a IIDC [DCAM] Compliant driver. The camera is powered through the Standard 6 - pin 1394 Interface requiring no additional power supply and cabling. It is not possible to interface our cameras directly with 4 pin 1394 bus as it doesn`t source power. The camera needs a 2/3inch format C-mount lens, and should be selected based on the specific application. The 1394 cable to connect the camera to the 1394 Adapter card is available in standard lengths up to 15 feet. These requisite accessories may be purchased directly from Soliton with a 100% compatibility assurance. The camera is also sold along with the camera configuration utility that can be used to set and modify all the camera parameters. Alternatively you can use any front end tool which is IIDC compliant to configure the camera parameters. The camera is provided with extensive documentation in the form of an installation guide, user manual and reference manual.
