GE Consumer & Industrial is offering Drive Isolation Transformers as part of a wide range of dry type vented transformers. These Drive Isolation Transformers are capable of handling voltage distortions, mechanical stresses, and harmonics associated with SCR applications. These are available in delta-wye designs, which meet NEC requirements. These Drive Isolation Transformers are UL 1561 listed for non-sinusoidal current loads.
These Drive Isolation Transformers are equipped with taps, which are symmetrically placed. They have also added coil bracing. These things help to endure the mechanical forces caused by severe SCR duty cycles. The transformers are also protected against regenerative duty and more frequent short-circuits associated with SCR`s. These Drive Isolation Transformers can eliminate the electrical noise caused by SCR`s.
