Progressive printcraft manufactures intrinsically safe proximity switches for use in hazardous areas. These proximity switches are used in flammable area group classification i, iia, iib, iic. Suitable intrinsically safe isolating amplifier is also offered which processes signal from these switches and drives a relay. These switches are used for position, speed, direction and level sensing. Proximity switches can replace limit switches with much advantages like no physical contact, no wear and tear, hence long life, no contact bounce/no false pulses, non-contact and maintenance free and high repeat accuracy. Led indicator and switches for use in hazardous locations are also available.There are 800 varieties of switches are available which include tubular threaded switches from m8 to m80; square/rectangular switches, and slot type switches in ac and dc versions. Inductive proximity switches are generally used for position sensing of metallic parts. Capacitive proximity switches are used for level sensing of any solid, liquid or granules. Level of petrol diesel or plastic granules can be sensed. Counting of plastic bags or pouches can be easily achieved.
