Selomac manufactures jibs, both for oe applications and For replacements. Jib, also known as jib, wedge or key, is a critical part of a slide unit of a machine. Slide unit is an important part of any machine. Axes in a machine are mostly designed by way of slides. Clearance between the male and female parts of the slide are minimized with the help of a jib. Jibs are also used to compensate the wear-out in the sliding surfaces due to prolonged use. Jibs can be of different dimensions and shape - plain, taper or with different angles, depending upon the application. Generally, jibs are made of stress-relieved c-45 material. For some applications, cl jibs are also used. The lengths of the jibs can vary from 100 mm to 1500 mm. Their height can be 10 mm to 40 mm and thickness can be from 3 mm to 20 mm. The side angle can be 50°, 55° 60°, 90° or so. Generally, jibs are offered after machining. If required, scrapped or ground jibs are also offered with or without turkite lining. Oil grooves are also offered optionally on the sliding surfaces. For hmt and bfw milling machines, normally jibs are available in stock. For other machines and requirements, dimensional drawing or details of angle, minimum and maximum thickness, length and height are required.
