Texes transformers offers ferroresonent/saturable core stabilizers. In this type of stabilizers, stabilization is done by using a linear transformer. The linear transformer acts as a linear element as well as the transformer injecting a voltage in approximate proportion to the current into the output circuit. The principle used is one in which the transformers are combined into a single core having three limbs. These stabilizers have the advantages of simplicity; no moving part or components likely to wear out and self-protecting against short circuits; output is totally isolated from mains unlikely other type of stabilizers does not provide; and no special attention or preventive maintenance is required frequently. However, the stray magnetic field caused by saturated component may cause affect with associated apparatus and hence advised to keep away from such apparatus. Another disadvantage is that due to the use of resonant circuit the output voltage changes with input frequency variation [1% change in frequency can change 1.5% of output voltage]. When supply frequency is maintained reasonably constant, this disadvantage can be overcome.
