Gelco electronics provides electronic ballasts also known as power savers that replace the conventional chokes and starters in fluorescent tubes. It conforms to is:13021 - 1991.The conventional chokes consume 58 w of electrical energy [for 40 w tube] while these electronic ballasts consumes only 30 w thereby saving 28 w per tube, which in the long run gives a cumulative saving in energy consumption. The electronic ballasts also can used as replacement of starters. They illuminate fluorescent tubes at as low as 100 v. Basically an energy saving device, these ballasts have other excellent features, which enhance the life of tubelights manifold. The electronic ballasts are available in 1x20 w, 2x20 w, 1x40 w, 2x40 w and 1x65 w ro 1x80 w. Power factor of the fixtures with the electronic ballasts is above 0.95. The electronic ballasts give instant and flicker-free start to the fluorescent tubes. Model 1x40 w weighs 750 grams approx.
