An earth leakage relay based on the ic technology, gelco has designed and developed which is a protective device. This earth leakage relay protects electrical system from fire and other electrical hazards. Following are some dimensional features which includethe size is 50 x 80 x 115 mm. The weight of basic unit is approx 310 gm. The leakage current range is 30 to 300 ma, 100 to 1000 ma and 500 to 5000 ma. The unit is consists of two parts: [a] basic relay; and [b] core balance current transformer [cbct]. Cbct is a sensing device, which senses earth leakage current of the electrical system, and the small signal generated across cbcts terminal is fed to highly reliable electronic circuit. If earth leakage current exceeds than set value, the electro magnetic relay is energised. This electro magnetic relay can be used for tripping mccb/ocb/acb or any other device. Cbcts are available in different diameters, viz., 70, 100 and 200 mm. The basic unit is housed in a hips box, base mounting as well as din rail mounting.
