The ride control products consists of a total of seven plants located in mumbai, nashik, pune, hosur, dewas, gurgaon and noida, with a combined manufacturing capacity of over 10 million units per annum of products that include shock absorbers, struts and front forks. The company caters to the requirements of all segments - oe, replacement market and exports for application in 2, 3 and 4 wheelers as well as the indian railways. Gabriel india was the first company in india to be accredited with iso 9002 certification as far back as 1993 for shock absorbers, struts and front forks. It has two state-of-the-art r&d centres, located at pune and hosur, equipped with ultra-modern facilities to cater to the requirements of its customers. The company has collaboration with arvinmeritor inc., and federal-mogul of usa. Oe customers include suzuki, ford, hyundai, toyota, mitsubishi, tata, m&m, fiat, hindustan motors, force motors, tvs, bajaj auto, yamaha, lml, kinetic motors, kinetic engineering, enfield, hmsi, eicher motors, swaraj mazda and ashok leyland. It is also a supplier of engine bearings to domestic oems and the replacement market in the automotive industry as well as other segments such as railways, marine and power generation. The company set up its engine bearings facility in parwanoo in 1978 in collaboration with federal-mogul. World leader in thin-walled, bimetal engine bearings. The parwanoo plant is equipped with a fully integrated facility for the manufacture of a complete range of bimetal bearings, bushes, flanges and thrust washers, including manufacture of powder metal and bimetal strips. Recently, it set up a new plant in khandsa [haryana] for manufacture of aluminium tin bearings.
