The systems can consist of single, two layer and three-layer composite. Single layer consists of viscoelastic sheets. Two layers consist of viscoelastic sheets of same or different hardness. The three-layer system consists of viscoelastic sheet plus viscomass [a viscoelastic gel] or any contrasting hardness sheets as required plus viscoelastic sheet. Wide ranges of combinations are possible for the composite system. The composite highly damped isolation system requires far less sway space to deliver a given level of shock protection.
