Chemical & industrial engineers supplies a wide range of flame arrestors for use in chemical, petrochemical, allied industries and refineries. These flame arrestors are normally installed on the end of the line or above the vessels where hazardous gases are normally vented out. They are used to prevent an external fire entering into the tank or inside the pipeline. The body is normally made of c8, ci, 88-304/316, aluminium as per the process requirement. Internal element or flame bank is made of metal sheets and gauges or sheets made of stainless steel/ aluminium. Gas is allowed to pass along with the element, which prevents the fire entering to the process in the event of external fire. Sizing, designing, etc, can be done with reference to api. 2000; and flame bank is so designed that the pressure drop is negligible. Sizes ranges from 1/2" [15 nb] to 2" [50 nb]: screwed connection; and 1" [25 nb] to 16" [400 nb] in flange connection. The flame arrestors are also used along with breather valves.
