The process of determining colour fastness of textile material is attained by mechanical agitating a specimen of textile in contact with pieces of specified adjacent fabrics in a soap-soda solution, before being rinsed and dried. The change in colour of the specimen and staining of the adjacent fabrics are assessed with standard grey scales. The Washometer for ISO Testing features 8 jars and the volume of each jar is 8 x 500 ml ±50ml. Distance of the base of jars from the axis of rotation is 45 mm. Temperature of water bath is ambient to 98 degree Centigrade and the motor is ¼HP 230 V.
