Wire Wound Resistors are available with high tensile strength and longer functional life. Silicone Coated Resistors have excellent life stability and high moisture resistance. They are recommended for industrial and professional electronic equipments, where stability, low temperature coefficient, close tolerances and low surface temperatures are desired. Open Winding Wire Wound Resistors are low Ohmic - High Current Resistors used for continuous and short term duty applications. These types of open elements can take considerably more overload than Silicone Coated Resistors and they also cool much quicker as each turn of the wire is exposed to the cool ambient air.
