Dynamic Braking Resistors are used with AC VFD`s to produce a braking torque in the motor during overhauling conditions. Dynamic Braking is a form of electrical braking of electrical motors. Lachhman Electronics manufactures Dynamic Braking Resistors.
Lachhman Electronics also manufactures wide range of power resistors, neutral grounding resistors and a wide range of electrical control panels. Dynamic Braking Resistors are used to absorb the energy generated when stopping electrical motors. They are designed to absorb this energy and to cool down quickly between stops. The Dynamic Braking Resistor is connected across the DC bus and will see voltages as high as 800 Volts. Depending on the system, an inductor and a capacitor or combination of these components smoothes the DC signal [reduces voltage ripple] in the DC link part of the VFD. The inverter circuit converts the DC signal into a variable frequency AC voltage to control the speed of the induction motor.
